Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: Travel so that you can earn profits, observe fasting so that your health improve and invade for the sake of Allah and you will be granted spoils. The chain of narrators of this Hadith is weak. Muhammad – may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him - is a teacher messenger, an inspiring doctor, and a wise man from whose heart the wisdom springs. His commandments are the basis of morality and ideals, and general rules of good conduct. His traditions are the method of the virtuous life in all its manifestations. This commandment is one of those useful universal commandments that should be taken into account and implemented. That is to say, whoever leaves his place of residence to the vast land of Allah as a seeker of knowledge or to earn his living to the other legitimate demands, he may find in the land to which he migrated his pursuit. And whoever comes out of his house with the intention of migrating to Allah and then death reaches him, his reward is surely with Allah - the Almighty - because deeds are judged according to the intentions. In some cases traveling is deemed obligatory, for example it is obligatory to travel in order to perform the obligatory Hajj, and to seek knowledge if there is no teacher in the country, and to seek a livelihood if the means of subsistence in his country are limited. Travel is also deemed obligatory if he fears that he will tempted if he stayed in his place of residence. Traveling is deemed desirable if one intended to look at the universal signs of Allah, or to seek the wellness, since travel is a means for the recreation of the soul and strengthening of the body. It is deemed permissible in the other cases unless it leads to the disobedience of Allah. People has different views concerning traveling, some of them see that it has many benefits. Therefore, one should not miss these benefits.. Other people see that traveling has almost no benefits if compared to the relevant hardships. The traveler finds in his journey a means to renew his activity, nourish his thought, and increase his faith; for the many signs that confirm the oneness of Allah the Almighty and his great ability. As well he may earn abundant provisions. Travelling may be helpful in terms of ensuring the profits and health based benefits which are of the best graces after Islam.
