‘Never did I feel jealous of the wives of the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, more than Khadeejah, although I did not (have the privilege to) see her.’ She added: “Whenever the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sal- lam, slaughtered a sheep, he would say: “Send it to the friends of Khadee- jah.” One day I said to him, ‘(It is) Khadeejah only who always prevails upon your mind.’ Thereupon the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Her love had been nurtured in my heart by Allah Himself, and she was the mother of my children.””1
