‘Aa’ishah narrated: “While I was on a journey along with the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and I had not gained weight yet. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to the people: “Proceed [ahead of us]”, so they did and then he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to me: “Come so that I would race with you.” We did, and I outstripped him on my feet. He left me for some time, and then when I became fleshy (gained weight) and forgot about this race, and was with him on a journey, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to
the people: “Proceed [ahead of us]”, so they did and then he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to me, “Come so that I would race with you.” We did, and he outstripped me. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, started to laugh and said: “This is for that.”
