Would the Prophet be proud of you whereas you suppress your wife?

Be merciful to her.

The merciful ones will be treated mercifully on the Day of Resurrection.

Do not suppress your wife, and do not demand from her what she can not afford. Please note that she is a trust with you until the Day of Resurrection
