researcher mary oliver[1] spoke regarding the relief of hardship as one of the manifestations of the mercy of the prophet of islam, peace and blessings be upon him. she explained that the islamic laws that mohammad, peace and blessings be upon him, called for are simple and easy laws that everyone can comprehend easily. islam, in its teachings, affirms that people have to think and use their mind in the religious matters.”[2]
furthermore, george sarton explained that the laws of islam are distinguished by toleration, simplicity and moderation. they, according to him, are easy for any person in any place.”[3]
also, the honorable religion of islam, as etienne dinet said, probes the best solutions. it does not give a decisive ruling, nor does give an inflexible command.[4]
etienne dinet explained that religion of islam does not contradict nor does it clash with the nature because it is an easy and lenient religion. it proceeds in conformity with its (i.e. nature’s) laws and times, unlike what the church does of going against and clashing with the nature in many of the life affairs such as the obligations it imposes on its followers who adopt monasticismof not marrying to make them live as strangers. islam does not stop at being in conformity of the nature and not revolting against it; rather, it makes its laws more acceptable and easier to be applied in a reforming, systematic and pleasing way. moreover, quran was called, for this reason, ‘guidance’ because it is the guide that leads to the most successful way of life. examples are really countless; however, we just give the most well known of them which is the flexibility it shows in the matter of the plural marriage.”[5]
