Shots of the Prphet's Mercy-2
when the son of his daughter died, and his eyes filled with tears, sa`d ibn `ubadah may allah be pleased with him said to him, "what is this, o messenger of allah peace be upon him ?"

and the prophet peace be upon him said, "when someone slaps or beats his slave, its expiation is to free him." (abu dawud – graded saheeh by al-albani)

the prophet pbuh was a mercy for all humanity. allah the almighty described him as such, saying:
"and we did not send you [o muhammad] but as a mercy to the worlds." (21:107)

"o muhammad! indeed, allah has heard what your people say to you and how they respond to you. i am the angel of the mountains and allah has sent me to you to order me to do whatever you wish. if you wish, i will crush them between the two mountains." but the messenger of allah replied, "rather, i hope that allah will bring forth from their loins those who will worship allah alone without any partner and not associate anything with him." (al-bukhari and muslim)

how true were the words of the prophet when he said,
"i am but a bestowed mercy." (al-hakim)

"no person kills a bird or anything larger without right but that allah will ask him about it on the day of resurrection." someone asked, "o messenger of allahr, what is its right?" he pbuh said,
"its right is that one slaughters it to be eaten and not merely cuts off its head and throws it away." (an-nasa'i)
**************************
the prophet also ordered kindness when slaughtering. he said,
"indeed, allah has decreed ihsaan (precision) for all things. so when you kill, kill well; and when you slaughter, slaughter well. let each one of you sharpen his blade, and let him spare suffering to the animal he slaughters." (muslim)

i have ten commandments to you:
don't destroy inhabited places, don't kill sheep or camels except for eating, don't sink palms or burn it, don't exaggerate, don't be coward, don't kill children, women, or old people, don't cut fruitful trees)
these texts and the other islamic military rules established by the prophet comprised the moral principles of war, such as:
1. dedication and neutrality concerning the actual objectives of the war and leave any thing related to the hatred, treachery, revenge or retaliation.
2- keep the environment and avoid spoiling the land such as burning trees and killing the animals except when necessary.
3- not confronting the non-warriors such as the women, children and the old people.
4- religious forgiveness, respecting the sacred places of the others, not killing the priests or ministers unless they fight muslims or support fighting the muslims and avoid their churches and worship places

and when the prophet pbuh conquered makkah, entering it with ten thousand warriors, allah gave him the decision concerning those who had abused and persecuted him, plotted his assassination, expelled him from his homeland, killed his companions and tortured them because of their religion. one of his companions said, "today is a day of massacre." but the prophet said,
"no, but today is a day of mercy."
then he pbuh went before the defeated people whose eyes were wide with fear and whose hearts were trembling, waiting to see what the victorious conqueror would do with them. their own custom was that of betrayal, vengeance and mutilation of those killed, as they had done to the muslims in the battle of uhud and elsewhere. but the prophet said to them,
"o quraysh, what do you suppose i should do with you?"
they replied, "what is good. you are a generous brother and the son of a generous brother." the messenger of allah replied, "go, for you are free." they felt as if they had been retrieved from their graves.

upon any war the prophet ordered:
“set off the name of allah and do not kill old men, children or women....”
