refuting this suspicion

to those who are against islam we say:” the statement that you follow to prove the prophet’s trail to commit suicide, is not a right one although it is written in “ sahih al bukhari” (part 9 page 38) . al bukhari did not mention this statement- that we will mention- as being a right “hadeeth” but he mentioned it as being a “telling”; that means it has been told by someone and not reported from the prophet himself.

ibn hijr al askalany said in (fateh al bari; part 12 page 376) :” al zahri told us this story and al bukhari narrated it from al zahri’s telling. so this telling is not reported from the prophet’s sayings. and al karamani said the same.”

this is the right story; the prophet never did this or even thought of doing this forbidden act because he is the leader of all believers and the sent messenger to all mankind.

the prophet is a human being, and as all of us he might feel depressed and sad sometimes; and this is normal:” glorified (and exalted) be my lord [(allâh) above all that evil they (polytheists) associate with him]! am i anything but a man, sent as a messenger? (al israa’: 93)

when jebril (pbuh) “gabriel” – the sent angel by allah to prophet muhammad – stopped coming to the prophet for a long time, the prophet missed him so much and went to the grotto of hiraa’ ( ghar hiraa’) on one of makka’s mountains, where he used to see and meet jebril.

in this place the prophet finds his comfort and serenity. some of the prophet’s enemies use the following verse from the quran as a proof for their claims:it may be that you (o muhammad) are going to kill yourself with grief, that they do not become believers [in your risalah (messengership) ( ash- shu’araa’:3)

this verse doesn’t mean that the prophet intended to commit suicide at all, but it is a literary expression to show the prophet’s grief and deep sorrow because of his folk’s refusal to follow him and to believe in his message and in the holy sent book “ the holy quran”. look how concerned the prophet was in leading people to the right path, and getting them out from darkness to the light of the almighty allah.

this is a normal action done by a human being who confessed his being a human as mentioned in the holy quran :”and they say: "we shall not believe in you (o muhammad), until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us;*or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst abundantly;*or you cause the heaven to fall upon us in pieces, as you have pretended, or you bring allâh and the angels before (us) face to face;*or you have a house of zukhruf (like silver and pure gold), or you ascend up into the sky, and even then we will put no faith in your ascension until you bring down for us a book that we would read

( al israa’ : 90,91,92,93)….

the prophet answered the polytheists : glorified (and exalted) be my lord [(allâh) above all that evil they (polytheists) associate with him “(al israa’ : 93) wondering their strange requests consisting that he is a human being who can’t offer them what they’ve requested :” am i anything but a man, sent as a messenger?”(al israa’ : 93)

and also, accusing the prophet that he has no miracles shows indeed the great ignorance of those people. the prophet (pbuh) as all other prophets had miracles given to him from the almighty allah; e.g.: the water that sprang out of his fingers, hearing the tree talking in one of the friday prayers , making out of a little amount of food what can be enough for a large number of people, in addition to his everlasting miracle that is the holy quran that allah promised to keep  as it is and promised to be interpreted, generations after generations according to what man discovers in all fields of life.
